Well, they left us...
We took Bill and Debbie to Angers St. Laud this morning for an 11:44 AM TGV (fast train) to Paris Montparnasse. Everything seemed to go smoothly as far as boarding, so Dan and I took off walking to find a bite to eat. We ended up in some chi-chi-ish place ("Do you have a reservation?"), where Dan had some pate cooked in a pastry and I had risotto cooked in something green. Mine was good but different... had really thin lima-ish beans in it. I patted myself on the back for eating something healthy. 👍
We talked about going to the Chateau Angers or to the "Garden with Plants" (Botanic Garden), but it was hot and getting hotter. Today the high was 91 degrees F, which doesn't sound too bad compared to Memphis and other southern towns, but we do not have air conditioning here. It's not awful, since the humidity is low (at least relative to Memphis), but it's still quite warm. I spent the day catching up on blogging and fighting with blogspot over Dan's photos, but we finally got that settled. I washed sheets and towels, clipped some flowers to replace others that had gotten tired-looking, and tried not to move too much.
Dan spent a great deal of time talking to Bill Taylor; he and Nancy just got back from Barcelona, and they have been there several times, so Dan got some great ideas about things to do.
It’s 10:22 pm and just now twilight…
This nice photo taken from our bedroom window - by Vicki, not Dan.
