Tuesday stuff

I am sitting here watching Vicki work in a rose bed behind La Giro. She is busting her butt and making it look great.

As it will be 3 weeks since my last haircut tomorrow, I went to the local shopping area and got a haircut. I pointed to my head and told them there wasn’t much to do. I also told the guy my eyebrows were touching my glasses, so he took care of that as well. If you can’t remember the exact word, find a way to work around it!

On the way out, I stopped in a little shop of local products. Places like this, and the local chocolaterie, have pâte à tartiner as opposed to Nutella. Nutella adds palm oil and some other things. I bought some non-Nutella pâte à tartiner to share at breakfast. It is wonderful.

Tuesday was also a wine tasting. Our hosts are getting ready for a family reunion and needed to taste what they needed to have on hand. The rest of us got to go to offer our support - and taste some really good wine.

And since we were buying directly from the vineyard, the Domaine des Deux Vallées, the wine was not only delicious, but amazingly inexpensive. I bought two bottles of Rose for 4.75 euros each. I could have bought a 10 liter box for only 42 euros.

After the tasting, we went to an old windmill in a nearby vineyard. The view was beautiful, and we watched a storm move in.

These will be ready for harvest in September or October.

Then it was time to get home for aperitifs, dinner, dessert, digestives, and bedtime.
