Tough day
- Didn't sleep last night. Was ready to take Bill and Nancy Taylor to the train station at 5:30 am when they were ready.
[It was pretty hot last nite, having gotten up in the high 80s during the day, so neither of us slept too well. However, when Teresa and Emily were at the store today, we asked them to look for a fan, and they found one! We will use the crap outta it and then donate it to La Giraudiere. I did figure out that we need to close the inner shutters when the sun gets to the west side of the house. That liberal arts education is at work... That being said, it is hot AF.-v]
- Took the Taylors, accompanied by Reginald, to the station and left them standing all by themselves on an empty platform. I hope they made it home.
[I slept. Bill and Nancy, I hope that we meet again! -v]
- Reginald and I went for bread, then returned to La Giro. I crashed.
[He did. I saw him when crashed. And then I went back to sleep. -v]
- Had breakfast. Then helped with lunch. Had lunch, then thought about dinner. Fished a dead mouse out of the pool.
[I slept thru breakfast. Made it up for lunch. Did not fish any dead mouse from anywhere. -v]
- Took an afternoon nap.
[Nap? Who needs a nap? -v]
- Managed to wash some clothes, check on the snails, and research the beach restaurants where we are headed tomorrow morning for a few days.
[We decided to hit the coast while it's hot and for me to get an ocean fix. He had to move the snails into the cellar so that they didn't cook in the pot where they are eating and shitting flour. Hope that he remembered to put something heavy on the lid... -v]
- Gathered the energy to make some warm bar nuts for happy hour, then helped load things on the table for dinner.
[I didn't do shit to help with dinner. -v]
- Had charcuterie and ratatouille for dinner, then a meringue about 6 inches long with strawberries marinated in Cointreau.
[Well, I did clean the kitchen after dinner, so I guess that I helped on the back end, and then I had to go up and sit in front of the fan to cool off. -v]
- Packed and crashed.
[Truth in reporting: He hasn't crashed yet. But he will soon. All it takes is a pillow, really, and he will be out like a light. Tomorrow we head for the coast where there is a Dragonfly Museum. Whew-hoo!!! -v]
Just loving the commentary and the snail notice.JW and CW
