"What a day, what a day!"

For any of you who might have been entertained by Robert "Brother Bob" Tilton in the 1980s, you will remember that he often opened his show saying "what a day, what a day." And what a day today has been.

We had such an interesting night in Saint-Cyprien. It was on a harbor and right on the Mediterranean, but the place that I chose for our stay was in the midst of a beach-front carnival (unbeknownst to me). So we got to hear music - live and dead - all night long. Dan was down and out by 9 PM (he went out for a dinner of anchovies, which he said would be worth puking up, so I'm sure that his system went into overdrive trying to process that particular ingestion), but I heard the bass until the early morning hours. We always sleep with white noise, and the bass still broke through three white noise apps turned up full blast. Can't wait to review that place. :|

This morning, we headed to Barcelona. I wasn't feeling great (still dealing with lower GI issues and cough/congestion added to that), so Dan was elected to drive. By the time we stopped to grab some pho (what Vietnamese restaurant doesn't have pho? The one we stopped at...), Dan started having dizzy spells. I am 1000% sympathetic on that, because I've had BPPV since the 1990s. It's awful to have vertigo - and to have to be in a moving vehicle on top of that is torture.  However, we had to get to Barcelona to turn in the car. So we did. A very nice taxi driver name Alejandro drove us into Barcelona to our very expensive apartment rental in which we are currently lying about. Dan is not feeling much better, and I'm still dealing with my symptoms. I guess that we will have to find an MD if Dan's dizziness continues because I'm not sure that he can fly with that. Any feedback from anyone?

Anyway, here are some photos from our apartment:

I'm also trying to figure out how to use a washer that is also a dryer. I looked up the words in the translator, and the dial should be on the "dry" word. However, currently, our clothes are on their second third fourth washing, which honestly is not unexpected given the luck of the last few days!  Update: I finally just took the clothes out and hung them to dry. Clearly I was not born to this kind of work.

Dan - this is what I have seen of our area of Barcelona. Lovely.
