Final thoughts
On Thursday morning, we were sitting in the Atlanta airport with an Einstein bagel [and a BIG coffee!!! -v] before us. We spent the night at a Marriott there; finally had a king-sized bed and AC that went below 20 c. That part was awesome. For dinner, we split an overpriced but delicious burger with truly crispy fries. And a cold beer. [And a salad with Romaine lettuce!!! -v]
However, I was still on Europe time. I was up for the day by 2 AM.
I did visit the duty-free shop in the airport. These were seriously tempting:
And he took a photo of this blasphemy:
The flight itself was uneventful. We had none of the negative experiences we have been hearing about. Our plane was on time, our luggage made it to the same airport that we did, and we only experienced a relatively short line at passport control. We were asked a couple of easy questions and breezed on through.
Our flight from Atlanta to Asheville was not unpleasant, and it was not full. The Asheville airport was no problem, and our new friend Steve picked us up and deposited us at our doorstep. Our wonderful neighbor Anna brought us dinner, which was kind of her and delicious for us. Our sweet down-the-hill neighbors, Diane and Dee, kept our plants happy and watered. So glad to see our mountains. Glad to be home.
Thanks for reading. Until our next adventure…
